Government Cheaze

Government Cheaze, Fronted by hip-hop MC Kameelah Waheed, was signed to PTME, an indy label out of Philadelphia established in 2002 by Will Smith Sr., shortly after Smith caught them performing at a local Philly club called the Khyber in late 2007. After inking the deal with PTME ( Philly Through My Ear Records) multi-platinum producer D Moet was enlisted to produce the GC project.

Using a rock/hip hop hybrid Government Cheaze has brought their powerful energy to many stages since its inception, and earned acclaim from fans and critics alike throughout the Delaware Valley. Most notably the Black Lily Film and Music Festival, performing at the legendary Roots Crew's Picnic and headlining shows at the Bottle and Cork in Delaware during the Dewey Beach Music Festival.

Their achievements also include Philadelphia City Paper’s top ten pick compilation “Larry Gold presents Don Cello and Friends” in which the band is featured on the European hit “Traveling.” They have been performed at the legendary CBGBs in New York , and made numerous TV appearances including a guest appearance on 6 ABC’s music and entertainment showcase Tuned in .

Their Philly Through My Ear / SoundMyne Entertainment label debut is now available on itunes for download.
